British Fluid Power Association (BFPA)

BFPA monitors the official trade statistics for fluid power products (Intrastat and Extrastat are produced in the UK by HM Customs and Excise HMCE) and also the UK production statistics (PRODCOM is produced in the UK by the Office for National Statistics ONS). A number of codes for hydraulic and pneumatic products exist and are used to classify goods when reporting trade to the HMCE and production to the ONS, and the output of these enquiries is available through various statistical reports published by HMCE and ONS. Hydraulic and pneumatic hose and fittings are not classified under fluid power but rather under the material from which they are made in both the trade and production statistics - this is a significant area of fluid power not covered by the official statistics. The latest fluid power figures collected under PRODCOM and Intrastat and Extrastat are available on the HMCE and ONS websites but summarised for members on the Members Only pages of this website.
