Fluid Power Design Solutions Limited (www.fpds.org.uk) are a UK based, BFPA registered independent design consultancy run by Stephen Dilks who has over 25 years experience within the fluid power industry.
The areas that FPDS Ltd can offer their practical and theoretical experience includes; the mass production, design, development and testing of all types of hydraulic hoses, hose fittings, adaptors and Quick Release Couplings to both internationally recognised and also OEM specific standards.
Having worked with OEMs and distribution in all sectors of the fluid power industry which include; Bobcat, Case New Holland, Caterpillar, Ingersoll Rand, JCB, Komatsu, MCFE and Volvo to provide leak free hydraulic solutions, FPDS Ltd specialise in port to port design and supply solutions for the UK and overseas markets for on shore, off shore and sub-sea applications.
Since 2010 Fluid Power Design Solutions have been delivering the one day BFPA 'Foundation Course in Working Safely with Hydraulic Hose and Connectors'.
Following on from the above course is the BFPA two day 'Hose Assembly Skills Training Programme' - Fluid Power Design Solutions have been delivering this course since 2011.
Since January 2014 Fluid Power Design Solutions have been delivering the BFPA course 'Hose Integrity, Inspection and Management'. Although this is a one day classroom based course we are able to offer this with practical elements which could be tailored to include for example; benchmarking and undertaking a gap analysis of a hose management programme which may already be in place or developing/implementing a programme using the BFPA material to build a robust programme using best in class principles.
In January 2016 Fluid Power Design Solutions introduced to its offering the latest BFPA course 'Small Boring Tubing Integrity Using Twin Ferrule Compression Fittings'. This one day course covers the various theoretical and practical elements involved in the management of Small Bore Tubing (up to 2" and 50mm) Assemblies using Twin Ferrule Compression Fittings. The content is designed to meet the requirements of Maintenance Personnel, Technician & Instrumentation Engineers involved with the installation and maintenance of Small Bore Tubing systems.
