Bachy Soletanche plant department open new office block

19 Jun 2016

The Plant Department at Bachy Soletanche recently moved into their new purpose-built two-storey open plan office development in Burscough, Lancashire, bringing 28 office staff together under the same roof. As well as offices for all the staff, the first floor is also home to a new meeting room, with a smart touch TV and video conferencing facility.

The driving force behind the development was Plant Manager Andrew Egglesden, whose enthusiasm was second to none; during the construction phase he would gladly run a weekly guided tour to show the progress being made.

Now the original office block has been vacated the plan is to transform it into a new training department, with a dedicated hydraulic drilling rig set up with flow meters installed for people to work on and to develop their skills. The training department will have various sectioned pumps, motors, accumulators, hydraulic cylinders and valves for reference, so everyone will gain an understanding of what they look like internally and how they function, the department will also be set up with a mock installation of the latest instrumentation used in the drilling rigs so tailored training can be offered to key site personnel.

Bachy Soletanche has recently joined the BFPA as an Education and Training Member. Ian McKenna, Plant Technical Support commented: “If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Burscough in Lancashire and would like a guided tour of the premises, to see some of the machines we operate & projects we work on then feel free to give me a call on 01704 891 019 or 07715 484 235”
