Gates Awarded Defence Standard

Earlier this year, BFPA member Gates became the first hydraulic hose manufacturer to receive approval under the Defence Standard 47/32 issue 02 – Type 1 & 2, enabling a specific range of their premium hose products, couplings and assemblies to be specified for service on UK Naval Vessels and shore establishments.

Gates are unique in being the only manufacturer and assembler to achieve this prestigious standard opening up a new market place for Gates and their appointed strategic partners.

After extensive testing, witnessed by MOD representatives, at the Gates European R&D/test facility the company has received Defence Standard 47/32 issue 02. The approval covers Gates G1, G2, M3K, M4K, M5K, M6K wire braided products as well as the patented Gates MegaCrimp (G) & GlobalSpiral Plus (GSP) couplings and hose assemblies comprising the former.
