Government sends letter of thanks to the manufacturing sector

16 Nov 2020

BFPA is delighted that the manufacturing sector, including BFPA and BFPDA member companies, has been recognised by the Government in an open letter published on the GOV.UK website, dated 12 November 2020.

The letter is from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Alok Sharma, to those in the manufacturing industry and its supply chain.

The letter thanks those in the manufacturing industry and its supply chain for their success in continuing to manufacture, supply and export goods, including goods essential to our critical national infrastructure, despite the challenges of COVID-19.

It emphasises that the industry can and should continue to work during the current period of restrictions, and follow government guidance on safe working.

The fluid power industry has continued to work throughout the pandemic, as a vital link in the engineering supply chain in the UK, across a huge diversity of end use markets from food and drink production to construction and waste collection, with many companies contributing specifically to the Covid efforts (click here for examples of how BFPA Members have supported the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic).
