It’s official: After 36 years on the outskirts of Exeter, Derek Lane and Co have moved

Over the years, Exeter-based Derek Lane & Co have been gradually outgrowing their current premises and, to answer the needs of their customers, have moved to a bigger and better site Just down the road. The new premises at Heathfield Industrial Estate (just off the A38) boasts nearly 20,000ft² of workshop and warehouse space, trade counter facilities and sales offices. The company are now in a much better position to service your engineering and repair requirements under cover alongside an all-new showroom and Parkerstore facility, offering you more products when you next visit.

“Our aim has always been to put the customer first, we cannot look backwards and must endeavour to move forward.” says Sales Director Rob Woodley, “The economic climate is uncertain of course and we should be cautious, to give a better quality service to our customers however, we need to invest.”

“The main reason for the move was the lack of workshop space.” adds Operations Director Mark Venn, “Any trucks would have to be worked on outside, whatever the weather. Our new premises boasts a massive 20,000 ft² workshop / warehouse space to enable us to work on customers equipment all under cover”

Derek Lane retired in 2012 and the business was acquired by Rob, Mark and Beaumanor Engineering in Leicester. Since this ownership change there has been a distinct focus on contemporising and improving the business with considerable and perpetual investment. The new cite is a tangible testament to Rob and Mark’s resolve.

Rob concludes “In the grand scheme of things we’re only moving a few miles up the road and for our longstanding and valuable customers in Exeter, we are still very much serving the local area; at the same time, we are also forging some new and long term customers in the Newton Abbot and South Devon Area. We hope our new location will prove beneficial for our customer and staff for many more years to come.”
