About National Manufacturing Day 2025
Following the success of the past three years, National Manufacturing Day (NMD) will be held on Thursday 25 September 2025.
On the day, manufacturers across the UK will open their doors as part of a nationwide open house initiative, inviting the public behind the scenes to explore how modern manufacturing operates.
This is a unique opportunity for local communities to discover the wide range of careers available across the sector. From school leavers and graduates to those looking to retrain or simply learn more, NMD welcomes people of all ages to see the future of UK manufacturing up close.
For Make UK and manufacturers, it’s a chance to:
- Showcase the sector’s diversity and innovation
- Highlight the variety of high-skill career paths available
- Promote apprenticeships and reskilling opportunities
- Celebrate the strength of industries including aerospace, automotive, food and drink, defence, chemical, and pharmaceutical
