Outstanding achievement for Bosch Rexroth’s Glenrothes site

Bosch Rexroth’s Glenrothes manufacturing site has been presented an award for outstanding achievement by industry association, Scottish Engineering.

The manufacturer of hydraulic motors exports in excess of 95 per cent of its products worldwide, something that has also been recognised by the prestigious Queen’s Award for International Trade twice. Additionally, the Scottish Engineering award has specifically acknowledged the company’s extensive charity and community work.

Bosch Rexroth is a major employer in the area and boasts a highly skilled workforce of around 400. The facility holds full design and manufacture responsibility for its products worldwide (as part of the global Bosch Rexroth organisation), and was strongly praised for its lean production system and quality management processes.

Bryan Buchan, chief executive of Scottish Engineering, said: “Bosch Rexroth have implemented their own lean production system with full adoption of single-piece flow, delivering perfect “pass-on” quality. Further, the company is also renowned for its delivery of charitable support locally, including financial help for schools, charities, food banks and other worthy causes. Bosch Rexroth is a significant asset to the Scottish engineering industry and it’s a privilege to be able to present them with this award.”
