MP Filtri COVID-19 – innovative initiative to support the NHS frontline

MP Filtri is doing its bit to support frontline health professionals by devoting its 3D printing operation to the creation of Personal Protective Equipment. The company is creating masks for doctors which will be supplied to surgeries in some of the UK’s worst hotspots for the COVID virus.

MP Filtri’s new product development manager Kris Perks said: “It’s a simple but vital initiative which we are happy to have the opportunity to support. It may only be a small step but each mask may prevent a healthcare professional from being infected with the illness so it is an important one.”

MP Filtri employees around the world have also backed a fundraising effort which has raised close to 25,000 Euros to support the response against the virus.

The result? Over 800 face shields to date, with more in production at the moment, have been delivered to NHS facilities and care homes across the country, including some to our local Tewkesbury Community Hospital!

Headquartered in Middlesbrough, UK, IMH delivers major hydraulic engineering projects and offers services across design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs, as well as component supplies and training.

The appointments have been made in line with IMH’s five-year growth plan. Joining as part of the senior management team, he will also be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement measures across the business.

Chris spent 20 years with the British Army, working his way up to Avionics Supervisor / Flight Line Crew Chief, where he co-ordinated maintenance support on various aircraft in high-pressure environments. This experience will be invaluable when working in the demanding and responsive environment at IMH, which is driven by the complex needs of its customers.

Jonathan Marley, Operations Manager at IMH commented: “I’m delighted to be joining the IMH team, as now more than ever there is a need for businesses to look for ways in which to operate more effectively and implement processes that are flexible and responsive.

“With service teams based here in Middlesbrough and at the Port of Blyth I look forward to developing new strategies that can be implemented to best support our customers.”

James Griffiths, Managing Director at IMH added: “As our business continues to grow its portfolio and sector coverage, these strategic appointments will assist us in overcoming the many challenges that expansion brings. I’m excited that Jonathan and Chris have joined the team, they bring extremely valuable experience and capabilities to the organisation.”

IMH delivers major hydraulic engineering projects across a number of sectors including offshore, marine, infrastructure and energy and its experienced team delivers services in design, installation, and commissioning of hydraulic engineering projects.
