CBI Industrial Trend Survey Summary

BFPA subscribes to the CBI’s Industrial Trends Surveys – below is the Executive Summary for Q2 2022, with the full summary to be included in the Q2 BFPA survey results:

Growth in manufacturing output and orders slowed to post-lockdown lows in the quarter to July, returning to more typical rates following a period of strong growth. Costs and prices continued to rise at a rapid rate, although there are signs that the growth may have peaked for now. Sentiment fell for the third consecutive quarter, but investment intentions recovered. Employment in the sector continued to rise, though concerns over labour shortages remain acute.
