2018 Fluid Power UK Trade Data

The latest UK trade data for the hydraulic and pneumatic codes for 2018 is now available for download on the Members Only pages of the BFPA website, based on data from H.M. Revenue and Customs. 2018 returned a negative balance of -£34.1 million which is attributable to the pneumatic results (the hydraulic trade balance was around zero) – this was disappointing after a positive trade balance was recorded in 2017 (of + £24.5 million). See the summary chart below:

2018 PRODCOM Data

The first release of provisional estimates for 2018 PRODCOM (UK production sales) have also been published by the Office for National Statistics and these also available for download from the Members Only pages of the BFPA website.

Headline figures (please see the website for detail by product) indicate that fluid power production sales – as reported for the fluid power specific codes (n.b. we do not have codes for many of the product groups such as hose and fittings) in 2018 grew just under 14% to £967 million.
