Quarterly Trend Surveys – How is your business faring coming out of the COVID-19 crisis?

The Quarter 2 2020 BFPA and BFPDA surveys are underway. It would be great to see as many companies as possible sharing their experiences and views on the outlook which you can do by replying to the survey. Please contact sarah@bfpa.co.uk if you would like to receive the questionnaire again.

CBI Industrial Trend Survey Summary

Included as part of the quarterly trend reports, BFPA subscribes to the CBI’s Industrial Trends Surveys –below is the Executive Summary for Q2 2020:

Manufacturing activity fell sharply in the quarter to July, as firms continued to be buffeted by the COVID-19 crisis. Output volumes declined at a record pace, while total new orders fell at their fastest rate since October 1980. At the same time, headcounts dropped at their quickest pace since April 2009. Looking ahead, firms expect output and orders to begin to gradually recover. However, concerns about the persistent impact of COVID-19 on capital spending remain elevated, particularly a lack of demand and heightened financial constraints.
