Webtec Rewarded with Prestigious Silver Investors in People Award

Webtec, BFPA member and Cambridgeshire based specialist manufacturer of hydraulic measurement and control products is very proud to achieve the Investors In People Silver award standard. The company has been working hard to achieve the high standards set for this prestigious global award since it gained IIP accreditation in 2017.

The Investors in People accreditation has been developed and refined over nearly 30 years to help companies, leaders and employees work together to create better, more productive workplaces. Webtec’s company values and dedication to increasing the knowledge and skills of its employees, customers and its vision to ‘inspire others to enjoy the challenges that engineering brings’ through engaging with the wider community are very much in-line with the IiP’s ‘Leading, Supporting and Improving’ standards.

The company was commended for engaging with colleagues developing internal initiatives such as the Place to Work Group and Webtec Wellbeing, as well as the emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement.

On receiving the award, Jo Middleton, Webtec’s HR Business Partner commented, “achieving IiP Silver is a fantastic step forward for us. There is great commitment amongst our staff, and we are always seeking ways to improve and develop. I am looking forward to the next phase in our IiP journey”.

Martin Cuthbert, Webtec MD, said, “especially during the really challenging conditions we are all currently facing, we are really proud that the hard-work of the Webtec team to continuously improve and of the managers to delegate and empower more people in the company to lead change has been recognised by this year’s IiP assessment”.

Nicholas Smith, the IiP Practitioner who conducted the assessment, said, “It has been inspiring to see the progress that the team at Webtec have made in the development of their culture and management practices and the benefits that these have delivered for the business. Webtec’s attainment of the Silver award level is well deserved and I look forward to working with them as they continue their journey”.

Since 1991 Investors in People have accredited more than 50,000 organisations and the IiP accreditation is recognised in 66 countries around the world, making it the global benchmark when it comes to people management.

Hydroscand Limited announces the acquisition of Euro Hydraulics Mobile Limited

BFPA member, Hydroscand Limited, a supplier of high-quality hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings supported by a network of local branches and skilled mobile technicians, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Euro Hydraulics Mobile Limited.

Established in 1995, Euro Hydraulics Mobile is the longest established, largest independent emergency on-site hose replacement service in South Wales. Operating fully equipped service and repair vehicles Euro Hydraulics Mobile supports a broad range of customers throughout South Wales and the west of England. The company’s focus on customer service has resulted in a strong reputation in the area. Located in Treforest Industrial Estate, Pontypridd, Euro Hydraulics Mobile employs 7 people. This acquisition was initiated by the owners’ succession planning.

The transaction, which was completed on March 22nd 2021, is highly complementary and strategically beneficial. Euro Hydraulics Mobile fills a geographic gap in Hydroscand’s existing branch network and extends our mobile hose repair coverage to serve South Wales. Euro Hydraulics Mobile’s founder Christian Greedy will work with Rebecca Galley, Hydroscand’s Managing Director in the UK, to achieve its successful integration into the Group.

Rebecca Galley, Managing Director of Hydroscand Limited said, “We are delighted to welcome Euro Hydraulics Mobile to the Hydroscand group – our shared expertise and commitment to our customers makes this an obvious and complementary partnership. Euro Hydraulics Mobile is a highly successful fluid power solutions business with a strong local brand and impressive performance. Together, we will increase our offering and extend our mobile hose repair service in South Wales and the west of England, improving our customers’ experience.”

Christian Greedy added, “As founder, I am extremely proud of all that we have achieved so far. We know that Euro Hydraulics Mobile is capable of achieving much more. So, our priority was to find a partner with shared goals and values who would help it to fulfil its future potential. We are confident that we have selected the right partner and that Euro Hydraulics Mobile will continue to prosper as   part of the Hydroscand Group.”

This is Hydroscand’s second investment already this year and is an example of the firm’s expertise in supporting the transition of businesses from founders, families, and long-term private owners to new custodians. Hydroscand has performed well throughout the pandemic and has achieved growth despite the challenging business environment. The firm continues to seek further acquisition opportunities for hose and fittings and mobile hose repair businesses.
