TC 4 CONNECTORS

BS ISO 10763:2019 HFP – Plain-end, seamless and welded precision steel tubes – Dimensions and nominal working pressures

This standard specifies sizes and nominal working pressures for tubes with outside diameters in accordance with ISO 4397, and wall thicknesses and mechanical properties in accordance with ISO 3305 (seamless precision steel tubes} and ISO 3305 (welded precision steel tubes).

The nominal working pressures included in this document reflect a design factor ratio of 4 to 1 applied to the calculated burst pressures.

TC 8 PRODUCT TESTING

BS ISO 9110-1:2020 HFP – Measurement techniques – Part 1: General measurement principles

This document establishes general principles for the measurement of performance parameters under static or steady-state conditions. Also provides guidance on the sources and magnitudes of uncertainty to be expected in the calibration of and measurements using hydraulic fluid power components. It describes practical requirements for assessing the capability of the measuring system, and hence the level of uncertainty of the measurement system, or for assisting in developing a system which will meet a prescribed level of uncertainty.

BS ISO 9110-2:2020 HFP – Measurement techniques – Part 2: Measurement of average steady-state pressure in a closed conduit

This document establishes procedures for measuring the average steady-state pressure in a hydraulic fluid power conduit. It is applicable to the measurement of average steady-state pressure in closed conduits with inside diameters greater than 3 mm, transmitting hydraulic fluid power with average fluid velocities less than 25 m/s and average steady-state static pressures less than 70 MPa. It is not applicable to sensors which are flush mounted with, or an integral part of, the closed fluid conduit wall.

It also provides the formulae for estimating the total uncertainty in a given pressure measurement.

BS ISO 10770-3:2020 HFP – Electrically modulated hydraulic control valves – Test methods for pressure control valves

Describes test methods for determining the performance characteristics of electrically modulated hydraulic pressure control valves.

TC 16 HYDRAULIC FLUIDS

BS EN ISO 14935:2020 Petroleum and related products – Determination of wick flame persistence of fire-resistant fluids

This European and international standard has been implemented as British standard that specifies a method for the assessment of the persistence of a flame applied to the edge of a wick of non-flammable material immersed in fire-resistant fluid. This test does not determine the behaviour of a spray of fire-resistant fluid.

NOTE Such test methods are specified in ISO 15029-1 and ISO 15029-2.

This document specifies one of four basic tests for determining flammability and does not apply to certain liquids such as HFAE and HFAS liquids.

TC 6 CONTAMINATION CONTROL

BS ISO 23309:2020 Hydraulic fluid power systems – Assembled systems – Methods of cleaning lines by flushing

This document specifies the procedures for flushing particulate contamination from the hydraulic lines and components of hydraulic fluid power systems which is:

  • residual in the components after manufacture;
  • introduced into the system during the assembly of a new system; or
  • introduced into the system after system failure, maintenance or modification of an existing system.

The aim of flushing the system is to quickly remove this contamination to reduce the amount of wear and damage that results if these particles are allowed to circulate around the system. This document is not applicable to:

  • the chemical cleaning and pickling of hydraulic tubes;
  • the cleaning of major system components (this is covered in ISO/TR 10949).
