Sun Hydraulics is a world leader in the supply of screw-in cartridge valves with manufacturing companies in the USA, England, Germany, Korea and China.
Sun uses the floating construction design for its cartridges, which provides more reliable operation, particularly at high pressure. The cavity design also provides the opportunity for angle drillings in the design of the manifolds, which can eliminate construction holes and plugs and make more compact assemblies. Manufacturing cells are used for the manufacture of both cartridges and manifolds. Certain high volume load control valves are produced on a robotic assembly machine. Manifold assemblies are designed using the latest CAD systems and Sun has developed an expert system for writing the machine code for the CNC machines used which eliminates a great deal of set up time. This enables Sun to produce small to medium batches of special manifolds more economically.
Sun continues to develop new innovative products and has also recently introduced a new range of mini cartridges. Sun has representation I most major countries of the world and the growth in exports has been dramatic over the last five years.
