The hiTAG hose intelligence system has been developed to help improve Health & Safety standards, decrease Environmental risks and reduce business downtime within the Hydraulic Sector. The system itself allows you to create a hose configuration, log that hose to a specific location & asset and then place an inspection frequency on that hose. Each user has the opportunity to ensure that hose failure is minimised through regular, auditable and transparent inspection & replacement scheduling. The RFID tag attached to the hose can be scanned by any mobile phone, using NFC technology, enabling both the distributors and end users alike to manage the hose status and condition at any point in time.

Richard Morrissey, creator and Director of hiTAG Ltd, stated: “Our aim is to help the whole industry improve the standards of hose maintenance and usage, by creating a generic product that can be used alongside any manufacturer and in any environment. Hoses are too often seen as by-products to hydraulic systems, with the replacement of them overlooked when systems and machinery are serviced. The potential consequences of hose failure, which given their perishable nature is fairly high, can be catastrophic in certain environments. hiTAG will enable all users to help minimise these and implement the BFPA recommendations on hose safety in one easy to use system”
