Warehouse / Trade Counter Assistant

All the branches have well established ParkerStore trade counters, where hose assemblies are made on a while you wait basis. ParkerStore has over 1,000 locations worldwide and is the latest concept in marketing the Parker range of hydraulic and pneumatic products. The Parker products are situated out with the customer and show the latest Parker technology in the air and fluid power industry.

About the Position

We have a fantastic opportunity to expand our team by looking for 2 additional Warehouse / Trade Counter Assistants for our Poole and Portsmouth Branches.

Main Duties:

  • Providing an over the counter service to our customers promptly and efficiently
  • Making hose assemblies for the customer’s needs either over the counter or via email/telephone enquiries
  • Front of house trade counter – assisting with trade and retail customers – face to face
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Clearing goods in and making sure stock orders are put into the warehouse correctly and efficiently
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries
  • Proactively speaking with customers and informing them of any amendments to their original requirements
  • Processing Sales order via email and over the phone onto our system
  • Ensuring all stock levels are kept up to date
  • Ensure all correct stock is ordered when requested
  • Assisting the Management team when called upon
  • Working with your colleagues to ensure all day-to-day activities are completed
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure smooth running of purchase orders. Making sure they are running to the timeframe given
  • Take cash and card payments
  • Managing customer accounts

An interest or experience within the fluid power industry would be useful, as would experience of working within a trade counter environment. But these are not essential. The right attitude to customers, great telephone manner, computer literate, good time keeping skills and having a good team work ethic are the most important attributes/skills that we look for when employing a new member of staff to our business.
