Maintaining high standards through training and education has always been one of the key remits of the BFPA, and over the years the BFPA’s Education and Training (E&T) Committee has played a leading role in this aspect of the BFPA’s work. Through the E&T Committee, BFPA developed a series of courses for hydraulics and pneumatics which lead to formal qualifications in fluid power that are recognised by CETOP as industry standard. Candidates successfully completing any of the CETOP courses are eligible to receive a certificate from the BFPA (the UK awarding body) which endorses their achievement – the first of these was delivered in 2003 and so far more than 2000 certificates have been issued.
