LtoR Jerry Hughes, T&SPC Chairman and Phil Keep, MP Filtri UK Limited

It was a pleasure to include the presentation of a BSI Distinguished Service Certificate to Phil Keep of MP Filtri UK Limited at BFPA’s recent AGM and Conference in Warwick on 25th May.

Phil Keep

Phil is a long-time colleague and friend of the BFPA, who, as well as being Managing Director of MP Filtri UK Limited, has served on BFPA’s technical committees for many years and is current Chair of BSI MCE 18/6 Contamination Control.

On presenting the award, Jerry Hughes commented “Phil has represented the BFPA as a technical expert in contamination control at both national and international level for over 20 years, and his input has helped push the boundaries of knowledge into standards that raise the quality of fluid power products and systems.”

Chris Butcher, BFPA MD, added his congratulations and thanks to Phil for his years of dedication and hard work on behalf of the fluid power industry.

BSI Distinguished Service Certificates

BSI Distinguished service certificates (DSC) are awarded in recognition of the contribution made by national Committee Members to standardisation and standards development.

They can be presented (not exclusively) for the following:

  • Recognition of the contribution of a committee chairman
  • Recognition of a major contribution by a UK convenor, project leader or expert in the field of international and/or European standardization
  • Recognition of long and active service
  • Recognition of contribution to a specific standards project
  • Recognition of contribution in promoting standards and standardization
  • Recognition of contribution as a committee secretary

Only one DSC can be awarded to an individual committee member, and as a result they are often presented when a member retires.
