Access government support to hire an apprentice

26 Nov 2021

A new government campaign is being run by the Department of Education (DoE) aimed at employers in manufacturing and advanced engineering, that promotes apprenticeships.

86% of employers said apprenticeships helped them develop skills relevant to their organisation.

Whether you’re looking to expand your team, find new talent or add new skills to your business; apprentices are a great way to help your business succeed.

Apprenticeships can offer career starters, career changers or those looking to upskill (of any age), the opportunity to learn while they earn. They combine study with practical work experience through a paid job and can last between one and six years.

To make the process of hiring an apprentice easier, you can search for apprenticeship training using the government’s online service, and access government funding to cover training and assessment costs.

Once you have chosen the right apprenticeship training for your business, you will need to create an apprenticeship service account, where you can manage apprenticeship funding, advertise vacancies and more.
