There have been no new codes added or changes to the fluid power product codes, so all the codes remain the same.

If your product is used on civil aircraft a different set of tariff codes should be used, but from 1.1.2006 the distinction is only required at a 10-digit level.

2023 PRODCOM Codes

For the PRODCOM survey (to be carried out during 2023 for 2022 data) the relevant product codes are based on the latest PRODCOM List, which changed in 2008 in line with the Standard Industrial Classification 2007 for industry in the EU. ONS have confirmed that there have been no changes to the questions and codes under Heading SIC (07) 2812 – Manufacture of fluid power equipment for 2022 data collection compared to 2021, and the list of codes is included in the attached document on page 7. BFPA will aim to keep up to date with any future changes to the list and inform members.

EXTRASTAT

From 1 January 2022, all GB (England, Scotland and Wales) trade statistics will be derived directly from customs declarations as the single source. There is no longer any requirement to submit INTRASTAT declarations for EU imports (this was a temporary measure for 2021 only).

NB INTRASTAT will only apply for movements of goods between Northern Ireland and the European Union (EU) for a minimum of 4 years (and companies based in Ireland which continues to be a member of the EU).

INTRASTAT

From 1 January 2022, INTRASTAT will only apply for movements of goods between Northern Ireland and the EU. Movements between Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and the EU will no longer be covered by INTRASTAT. Trade movements from Ireland, being part of the EU, will continue to be covered by INTRASTAT.

The Intrastat thresholds for reporting imports and exports using the Supplementary Declaration form from 1st January 2023 will remain the same as last year as follows:

  • The exemption threshold for arrivals (NI imports from EU) £500,000 for 2023.
  • The exemption threshold for dispatches (NI exports to EU) £250,000 for 2023.
