UK Product Safety Review: Call for Evidence Report Published

25 Nov 2021

The Government’s Office for Product Safety & Standards launched a consultation inviting views on the long-term approach to product safety and how to ensure that the regulatory framework would be fit for the future – the consultation ran from 11th March 2021 to 17 June 2021.

The results will be used to shape policy proposals for the UK’s product safety framework, and highlight in detail various areas where work is required, including (on page 24): better protecting online consumers while allowing markets to remain fair, more simplicity, proportionality and consistency across legislation and powers, protecting the most vulnerable consumers and supporting the governments’ Net Zero ambitions (to name but a few).
