Investment in Youth at Group HES

23 Mar 2016

Group HES, a leading hydraulic, power transmission and lubrication supplier, have been supporting apprentices for several decades and continue to do so today. Learning and development are at the core of what is important to Group HES. From their humble beginnings in a disused railway wagon in 1965, the company has developed into the organisation it is today. They have achieved this by focusing on nurturing employees to reach their full potential.

Increasingly, people are looking for flexible, varied and in-depth training programmes, which is why apprenticeships at Group HES have continued to grow in popularity. Working within the engineering and manufacturing division, Branch Hydraulic Systems, apprentices gain experience across a large range of industries and an ever-growing number of applications, one day working with wind turbines, the next on a rig for the aerospace industry.

On Tuesday 22nd March and Wednesday 23rd March Group HES held two Open Days for Apprentices to learn more about the Apprenticeship programme, the company as well as touring the buildings and meeting the staff. Our Managing Director, Stuart Diesel, gave two presentations on both evenings, with a Q&A session after. The quality of the candidates and their questions was the best the company have experienced to date. With a great turn out and already several applicants, the future of Group HES looks like it will be in good hands!
